Trouble is that http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=TeXpronounce uses the IPA character [x], which is the one for pronouncing Bach. I tried for a while to pronounce "Loch", "Bach", "ich", and "TeX", and for me it's really *four* different sounds, even if I must admit that the first two and the last two belong to different families. But I fear that the only way to know the correct pronunciation is to ask Don Knuth to utter the word and send us the resulting audio file.
