Dear Musixtex-experts,
I encountered the following problem. After installing PMX 2.511 on my
Mac G5 OS X version 10.4 (using the binary distribution of Christian
Mondrup) everything worked fine - at first. pmxab produced barsant.tex
from the example file barsant.pmx. But then I ran into problems: My TeX
installation (Gerben Wierda's installation, TeXShop) did not find some
input files (musixps, font files for mxsk, psslurs.pro) which I managed
to insert manually at the (hopefully;-) correct positions in the file
system, so barsant.tex finally was compiled - but the output was very
poor.
All the notes were crowded together at the left margin beyond
readability,
and experimentally setting
\elemskip1pt ...
to
\elemskip4pt ...
made the notes readable, but still gave a quite unsatisfactory output.
Clearly, I am doing something wrong (I am a non-expert, who just started
experimenting with Music-typesetting): Would anyone be so kind as to
provide me with some hints?
Kind regards,
Markus
This sounds very much as if you forgot to run musixflx and re-run
musixtex. If you
don't understand what I am talking about, a look in my tutorial
http://icking-music-archive.org/software/pmx/pmxccn.pdf
(Sec. B1, p.11ff.) might be helpful.
If you have further questions, don't hesitate to be back.
Good luck!
