First, you need to understand that the MIDI processor in PMX is only intended 
to be an editing tool, not for producing high-quality MIDI. Second, nothing 
about the MIDI processor coding is easy because it has to produce binary code.

Repeats can be simulated using MIDI macros IMR etc.

Any instrument you want can be activated by number.

I'll think about the other issues but please don't hold your breath. Perhaps 
someone with some programming experience would like to consider writing a 
stand-alone MIDI file generator from scratch, starting just with a valid PMX 
input file.
