My title was too long!
I remarked that when I put as Tt:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefgh
, I manage to get the PDF. But:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghi
doesn't work (no PDF).
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklm
provokes a Segmentation fault (so, no TEX file) and:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzabcdefghijklmnop
makes a TEX file but no PDF o_O

I would suppose that simply feeding the Lambda to PMX from the
right-size math font should do it, but didn't have the time yet
to find that --- and that is probably what you refer to when
mentioning a `similar trick for Japanese' . So you know that too.
