I'm guessing the problem is that I defined the basic ornaments \lpn & \rpn
using \loffset and \roffset, and I don't think it's legal to nest
\loffset's. For now, you may just need to enter the parentheses with inline,
remembering you need offsets of 0.3 to start out, e.g., for 0.5 to the right
of default, \roffset{.8}{\rpar6}\. I'll see if I can figure out a way to
trap user-defined ornament shifts in the special cases of o( and o) and add
