Hello everyone.
I have a beginners question. My background:I have quite a bit of experience
with LaTex, though it has been a while. I want to be able to typeset some
simple songs for my son who is a beginning piano player.
I am using a mac, so I installed a new texshop distribution. I noticed that
it already included musixtex. To test the installation I copied the
musixtex.tex and style files to a local directory and compiled the musixtex
document. It compiled fine. However, when I copied the Avemaria.tex and
avemarix.tex example music files and style files to my local directory and
tried to compile them, it failed with an error. None of the other samples
worked.
1, Why didn't the examples work? Is this a known issue?
Not to be discouraged, I continued on and coded my first song. It was rough
at first, but I think I got the hang of it in the end. I've attached the
code at the end.
2. I don't know how to get the music spaced out right, or why the
linebreaks don't happen when they should.
If you can help, I would greatly appreciate it.
