Clarification: It is true that in the PMX source file "D" cannot be the first COMMAND in a bar. But on the printed page, by using the shifting option on a "D" placed after the first NOTE in a bar, you can start a hairpin as close as you want to the bar line (provided you don't shift it more than 25.5 notehead widths). For example ================================== 1 1 4 4 4 4 0 0 1 1 20 0.08 t .\ g04 | g2 D<+0-5 g D< / ================================== Comment: For placing text anywhere, you can also use various inline MusiXTeX commands such as \zcharnote. These must be placed before the note to which they are indexed. The vertical position of the text is controlled by the first parameter (be sure to use a number rather than a letter), and the horizontal position can be adjusted using \kern... within the second parameter. --Don Simons ------------------------------- [email protected] mailing list If you want to unsubscribe or look at the archives, go to http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music
