in the example below, the repeat sign at the end of the piece is
ignored. M-Tx puts a final / in a separate line after the command Rr. If
I remove this line, I get the repeat sign; but of course I don't want to
modify the pmx file every time I compile the source.
How can I get the repeat sign without modifying the generated pmx file?

With the following packages (current on Ubuntu Natty) I can't
reproduce the error you report.

Interesting. I have the same version of pmx, but a newer musixtex (o a current debian testing).
The last lines of the generated pmx file are
--8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<--
% Paragraph 6 line 47 bar 4
\mtxZchar{10}{4.}\ a2 g2 f0 of Rr
 /

% Coded by M-Tx

-->8---->8---->8---->8---->8---->8--

Below is also the output of the prepmx and the pmx command, showing the versions. I also attached the printout (converted to pdf). Instead of the repeat sign, only a double bar appears.

Simon
