Subject: [Tex-music] No room for new \dimen

Hi:

I am using aptosid ( Debian unstable) and about 6 months ago I had
problems with the above error
regarding no room for new \dimen. I saw a message from Don in answer to
another query that it might be due to earliet versions of musixtex.tex, but
I have verified that there is only one version. I also have a Debian
stable version, which works fine. I am not very sure whether the musixtex
installation
is part of texlive (which I have installed) or not. I did remove the
\setslurs(24) line in the tex file and the error does not appear, but the
dvi file, when viewed with xdvi, looks awful.

Iappend below the output for a simple source, so that the versions used is
clear.

Anybody has any suggestions as to how I should proceed?

I am not quite sure that I understood exactly what your problem is
(e.g. in what way does the output `look awful'?). But the error
message 'no room for new \dimension' prompts me to ask the simple
question: are you sure you used etex throughout ??
