Sorry, it is surprising to me that you get any problem when you add that line. When I do it, PMX does exactly what I expect and what is intended, namely, squeeze all the notes a little closer together so the new notes fit just fine at the end of the single line you legislated.
To compile, are you running the sequence pmxab => etex => musixflx => etex => dvips ? Are you deleting *.mx1 before you recompile? --Don Simons From: TeX-Music [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Ewan Delanoy Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2013 6:47 AM To: Werner Icking Music Archive Subject: [Tex-music] PMX question : how to apply the "don’t worry about linebreaks till the very end" philosophy Cornelius C. Now, suppose I want to append the following line to your code : a a a a b b b b / If I just do that, the final notes will unsurprisingly start to move off the score, so I must tell PMX somehow to break a line there. My first idea was to change nsyst and set it to 2, but this produced a strange output with three lines, the second line being void of notes and the third line containing notes outside a staff. What would be the correct procedure here ? Ewan
