Sorry, I was in Don-mode, where processing is done with a script that only goes as far as making a .ps, which I view with ghostview. Given that all of the scripts in the MiKTeX package produce PDF's by default, I'd retract this suggestion, on the assumption that everyone knows how to view a PDF.
