Well maybe, but will other programs work as they should? If you have a
32-bit Windows, you really should uninstall the 64-bit version of MiKTeX
and replace it by the 32-bit version.  If you do in fact have a 64-bit
Windows and the 64-bit MiKTeX doesn't work as it should, that should be
reported to MiKTeX.  As I said before, I don't have a 64-bit system
to test this myself.
