Hi, Francisco! Glad to see someone else besides me is using PMX. And you've
obviously spent some time looking at musixtex.tex and pmx.tex.

You're right that it's best not to have to change the TeX file, but it's
almost always possible to do it all from within the PMX file. It's
unfortunate that MusiXTeX's procedures for selecting clefs are so
complicated. Without specifying any clef change in PMX, the following may do
what you want:

=====================
1 1 4 4 4 4 0 0
1 1 20 0

a
.\
c04 /
\\\setclef1\treble\settrebleclefsymbol1\treblelowoct\changeclefs\
c04 /
=====================

But I'm not clear on exactly what you want. So if this example doesn't do
it, or at least set you on a path for how to do it, then please if possible
generate an image of what you want (and email it privately; no attachments
to list posts). If you can't do that, then please clarify: (1) is the new
clef symbol normal size or small? (2) Do you want to enter the pitches as if
they were in treble clef, ie, would the bottom note of the treblelowoct
staff still be e in octave 4? (3) Is there more than one staff in the score,
with different clefs? (4) Will you want to make any later clef changes in
the treblelowoct part?
