Hi Bob Thanks for the pointer in an earlier email in this thread; I have recompiled the binary under https://icking-music-archive.org/software/xml2pmx/ and the binary works fine now! BTW, the file " xml2pmx-2020-05-24.tar.gz" is not gzip'ed, it is just a plain tarball, so the extension ".tar" is more appropriate.
Hi Dieter > Did you have a look into "Readme2020.txt"? Yes, I had a look at Readme2020.txt and it does not say Ubuntu anywhere. (Ubuntu is a sleek derivative of Debian, so it is quite rare to see an incompatibility, especially without linked libraries.) The timestamp of that file is 15 May 2020, and its MD5 hash sum is aefaadb2bb32322ca71d0e178a41b424 . It is from the original ZIP file that Bob posted in the original email. I ran ./RunTelemann, and it turns up with the same problems. However, the newly recompiled binary from the WIMA source tarball works fine. There are a few MusicXML files I would like to test now; I will report if there are any issues in a separate thread.
