Thanks all! The problem seems to be solved once I removed and then installed again all packages related to texlive, texlive-music included. Thank you dear friends for your kind help. Rodolfo P.S.: Augustin, yes, dear old good xdvi did render the dvi file despite the font problem. ;-) Is the bug about gv hopefully be soon fixed?
