Follow-up Comment #1, bug #549 (project tex4ht):
It seems that there is a wrong font table for the italic version of this font,
it doesn't contain correct Unicode characters. Moreover, it can just reference
the wncyr.htf font table that we fixed recently, as they use the same
characters.
Put the following file, wnti.htf to the directory with your TeX file:
--------
.wncyr
htfcss: wnti font-style: italic;
--------
If you have updated TeX Live, it should use the corrected wncyr.htf, and it
should produce right Cyrillic characters.
