This can HARDLY BE ONE OF THE MOST TERRIFYING HIKES, maybe for the
author. I think she is living in the dark and still grieving for her
father. Yes, lava tubes absorb a lot of light, but are really no darker
than any other cave away from the entrance if one doesn't have sufficient
light and perhaps another person or two to be with.
