Dear Friends,

Earlier this year the Karst Waters Institute and National Cave and Karst
Research Institute co-organized the conference, Carbon and Boundaries in Karst.
Selected papers from that conference have been published in the journal Acta
Carsologica and are available at
http://ojs.zrc-sazu.si/carsologica/issue/view/36/showToc. You can also register
through this website to subscribe to the journal and receive printed copies.
For those of you who do subscribe, your copies will be printed and mailed in
January.

This conference focused on the growing interest in inorganic and organic carbon
in karst systems, and especially in the flux of carbon and nutrients between
the surface and subsurface. It is especially timely because of rapid advances
in the field and the importance of carbon sequestration in global climate
change Highlights included recent advances in biology, geology, and hydrology
that are helping us understand the dynamics of karst ecosystems, especially
with respect to carbon.

Please feel free to share this message with anyone who may be interested.

George
