Subject: [SWR] not caving but of regional interest

All,
I just received the following information at work and it definitely would
affect people in the Mesilla area of New Mexico:

The National Park Service conducting a feasibility study of designating the
historic Butterfield Overland Route as a National Trail.  ...for those of you
who may have special connections to or interest in the trail, this could be a
significant development for promoting tourism and preserving our region's
heritage.

If anyone would like a .pdf of the Special Resources Study letter or meetin
details (there is a "Scoping Meeting" in Las Cruces February 7th) send me an
email and I'll send you the info.
