Greetings from Rattlesnake Springs! Anabat is being used here tonight. Last night it was used by some while others worked the mist nets. I understand that last night's activities will be replayed tomorrow night. You can find 32 photos from last night's netting, identifying, and acoustical monitoring of bats on NCKRI's Face Book page. I expect that photos of tonight's acoustical monitoring will be posted tomorrow.
It is my understanding that there will be a field trip after Saturday's class. It will be along the Pecos River in Carlsbad and I think it is also going to involve both netting and acoustical monitoring. I'll verify one way or the other and send a message with the details tomorrow -- assuming Ken or someone else doesn't beat me to it. I would hope we can still use Anabat without nets as training for the devices??? The first gate on the road will appear to be locked but you just rotate the disc and you will be able to open the gate. The instructor only brought two sets of nets and the nets need to be decon'ed before reuse so there will not be a Saturday night field trip, just the classroom time on Satueday. Sorry for the late notification but i just found out today. Ken Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass - It's about dancing in the rain. _______________________________________________ SWR mailing list [email protected] http://caver.net/mailman/listinfo/swr_caver.net _______________________________________________ SWR mailing list [email protected] http://caver.net/mailman/listinfo/swr_caver.net Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T _______________________________________________ SWR mailing list [email protected] http://caver.net/mailman/listinfo/swr_caver.net
