I started to delete this as more of the crap that my good Wimberley friend
sends me. But then, I was curious to know whether the internet was monitored by
some covert department of the federal government or the FCC. It is evident to
me that among our cavers are some highly intelligent and computer savvy
individuals. Does anyone know if the internet is monitored by anyone for the
detection of illegal activities? I think my friend meant "he is now on a watch
list". Less than genius minds would like to know.

This is NOT something I heard about or received in an e-mail. This actually
happened to a friend of mine.

I have an elderly friend (a retired Methodist minister) who sends me tons of
political stuff and he sent me an article about muslims, terrorism and sharia
law in the U.S. and linking some off beat political site. The message was
returned to him with the message "this site is blacklisted" and Time Warner
then cut his internet service off. He went down and got it back on with no
explanation from them as to why it was cut off. I contacted MY servicer and he
said he had no idea either but that Homeland Security DOES monitor the internet
and it is possible some of the words in the post caused red flags to go up.

So, perhaps we need to be mindful of what we say in messages because it is
obvious SOMEONE is monitoring the internet. So, not only are our posts and
e-mails being monitored they have the power to cut off our internet service if
they want. Also, I didn't tell him this because I did not want to upset him,
but I'd bet good money he is not on a watch list somewhere.

Scary, isn't it? George Orwell is in his grave right now saying "I told you
so.....I told you so."
