That scheme applies only to differential GPS, where there are two
receivers involved, one stationary one for reference and one roving
one. That enables you to cancel out some random errors, which was
especially useful when the signals were deliberately degraded for
civilians in past years. But it is not what cavers usually do. -- Mixon
