I just tried the address below, plus what I thought was a newer address for
Walter: [email protected]. Both bounced as bad addresses. Does anyone have
Walter's newest, correctest address?

Walter Feaster, long time Texas Caver is in San Antonio in the Methodist
Specialty and Transplant Clinic. He is in intensive care with a
successfully installed new kidney. He should be in a room tomorrow
afternoon, and I am sure he would appreciate a call (432 559 3297), email (
<mailto:[email protected]> [email protected]), card, or good
thoughts.

All,
I just got off the cell phone with Bill Martin and Ken Kamon who are
there with Walter in the hospital and they said he is doing fantastic and that
all of the thoughts and prayers have been answered. He was being moved from ICU
to a regular room and they were getting his laptop up to him so hopefully he
can get on line soon. The doner is doing great too...
I will report as I hear more and maybe he can get o here and do it himself.

Bill

Dear Friends,

The International Union of Speleology (UIS) needs help to manage and update
its website. We need a website manager! Below is a description of the job;
it is also posted on the UIS website: http://www.uis-speleo.org/.

If you are interested, please contact Christian Dodelin, UIS Vice President
of Operations, at [email protected]. If you have technical questions
about the job, please contact Acting Manager Peter Matthews at
[email protected]. The website suggests contacting UIS General
Secretary Fadi Nader, but Fadi is currently busy with work so contact
Christian and he will coordinate with Fadi.

Please send this message to anyone you think may be interested. Thank you.

George Veni

UIS Vice President of Administration

-----------------------------------------------------

UIS Website Manager

The UIS Website is the official electronic medium for the presentation of
information of the activities of the Union and the state of international
speleology. Here is a great opportunity for a volunteer to ensure that the
website fulfils this purpose.

Responsibilities:

. Preparation and loading of website content in accordance with
Bureau policy and upon request by the President and/or Secretary;

. Uploading the pages received from the UIS Calendar Editor and the
Addresses Manager, although these uploads could be delegated directly to the
Calendar and Address Managers if preferred by the Website Manager.

. Managing (but not loading) the loading of web pages by Commission
Presidents, Publicity Officer, and the like.

. Other day-to-day operation of the web site.

Responsible to: The UIS Vice-President of Operations.

The amount of work is not great, but it does require good responsiveness and
preferably a reasonably long-term commitment. The existing website is
currently being converted to a modern format using the Joomla! Content
Management System, so the new Website Manager could expect to be involved in
this upgrade and its subsequent management. Updates for addresses, UIS roles
and calendar events are done by others, so this job involves updating the
rest of the website, together with its overall management.
