Here's a cool science experiment that makes electricity from
soil. If cave mud has sufficient nutrients, one could use this to
make a beacon that would blink in a cave for perhaps several
days. Most cave mud might be particularly nutrient poor,
however. How many would it take to recharge a Sten Light? ;-)
