We can't let this stand. To ensure delivery to your inbox, please add us to your address book: [email protected] Click Here to Send a Letter to the CEO! Dear S., Please take a moment today to help us keep the Buffalo National River clean and free of factory farming waste. One of Cargill’s meat suppliers recently built a confined animal feeding operation (CAFO), designed to hold 6,500 pigs and produce more than 2 million gallons of manure, litter, and wastewater annually, just six miles from Buffalo National River, a national park site in the Ozarks of northern Arkansas. This facility, the C&H Hog Farm, Inc., could seriously compromise the quality of the water and the vibrant recreational economy around the river. Because of the danger of flooding and waste runoff, we are asking Cargill to work with the owner to move this CAFO to a more appropriate site away from the Buffalo National River watershed. Fortunately, there are other, more appropriate places for an industrial facility of this size--we have no excuse to keep a polluting CAFO near such nationally important waters. Can you take just a minute to help keep the Buffalo National River pristine? Send a letter to Cargill's CEO! Thank you for all you do to protect our national rivers.
