Unexpected things crop up? David, not you. A blender! I want my milkshake made
with Blue Belle Homemade Vanilla. I hope I'm one of the first 40 Saturday to
avail myself of a free headlamp. 7 LED's, WOW! I'm glad you are being frugal in
this endeavor. If I make it I will bring some ice.

The big event near Brenham is less than 44 hours away.

I was at the camp today walking around at 9 p.m. with no bug spray and
no shirt and
not a single bug bothered me.

The first 40 cavers to show up and pay to enter, get a FREE Led headlamp with 7
LED's.

I would like to point out that most of the cavers in Austin, live
closer to the camp than
I do. As do most of the cavers in Houston. I can only emphasize
that if you live within
2 hours of Brenham, you don't want to miss this event.

I plan to arrive at the camp on Friday at 8 p.m. with a large truck
loaded down with
tables, chairs, cooking equipment, extra camping gear, cots, food,
ice-chest, etc.
If you get there before me, it means I am behind schedule and having unexpected
things crop up. Just step over the gate and walk to the back of the camp
and pick out a campspot. I should have a blender going by 9 p.m.

It will be too hot for a tent. Just bring an inflatable mattress
and a cotton sheet
and something to block the rain. All the campspots have electricity
so you can
run a pump, a fan, or any gadget you like to take camping.

There will be midnight movies in the lodge, both Friday and Saturday.

There are at least 50 cavers that I was unable to reach, so please help me
spread the word.

While I am saying this event is FREE to many cavers, I am hoping that enough
people show up and donate money to help recoup some of my expenses.

Tentatively, there is going to be a large yard sale at the event, and a small
caving book sale. So bring some money for that if you can.

My best guess is that between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, there could
be 40 adults there, 15 being cavers, and the rest being guest of
cavers, along with
any kids they bring.

Camp Happy Hollow is a well kept secret. The address is 2029 Happy
Hollow Rd.
Brenham. That is about 1/2 way between the towns of Burton and
Brenham, and south
of Highway 290 by 2 miles. There are no landmarks in the area, but
the camp has a
large stone sign out front to the right of the gate. The gate is
just a swinging pipe.
There is a creek and small bridge you will pass before you get to the entrance.

The weather forecast is cloudy, humid. If it rains, it should not
last but a few minutes.
