Those of you who are not members of the Geological Society of America probably
are unaware of the great picture of caver Erin Lynch, in cave armor and draped
with ropes, on page 18 of the November 2011 issue of GSA Today.   She is shown
in Alaska as a GeoCorps participitant in the Tongass National Forest.   Some of
you may be surprised to see her in Alaska, knowing Erin from her caving in
Virginia, California, and Mexico, and, of course, leading the exploration of
the great caves of China for the last decade.   More of her Alaska caving was
mentioned in the Alaska Caving Issue, May 2011, NSS NEWS, supporting the work
of other long-term Alaskan cavers.
