The video below was uploaded 2 weeks ago. In the video, cave diggers are using a gas-powered drill in a confined space to enlarge a tight lead.
Skip to 4 minutes 34 seconds into the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sma6bgcBhws I hope the passage had some good air-flow. Shouldn't the driller be wearing a scuba tank or at least an air-filter mask ? He could die doing this, or at least get a major headache, or get dizzy and trip and fall in the cave and hit his head. Right ? http://www.cavediggers.com/Ryobi.pdf This type of drill is not readily available at retail hardware stores, or even tool supply shops, but only from specialty industrial vendors. The Ryobi model appears to be more portable than the other models I see advertised on-line, plus it is a hammer drill. They do not make the Ryobi anymore, but there are apparently better models available: http://www.wolverinetough.com/hammer-drills/ http://www.amazon.com/STAR-Hammer-Capacity-Functions-SDS-PLUS/dp/B005IZE19S These are at least $ 600 plus tax, plus the cost of the drill bits ( $ 40 ? ). You want to make sure the drill is a hammer-drill before spending lots of money on one. All the portable models appear to require a 2-stroke fuel-oil mixture. You could possibly order one directly from China, but the shipping cost is rumored to be very expensive.
