PBSS Meeting Notes

The meeting opened at 1904. In attendance: Allen Laman, Tony Abernathy, Bill
Bentley, Patrick Ray, Matthew Ormsby, Alex Ormsby, Jacqui Thomas
Treasurer's Report: We have $606.40 in the account and $5.00 cash for a
student membership before the meeting. We have spent $252 for our patches
and taken in $127 in sales. Bill reported that he emailed everyone whose
membership has expired.
Discussed NSS membership and encouraging members to join NSS.
Elections: There was some discussion of our bylaws-we have our charter but
no copy of our bylaws. We will contact NSS and see if they are on file with
them. This came up because we thought we had to mail out ballots. Since this
year we only had one nominee for each position, and there were no additional
nominees, it was moved and seconded that we accept the nominees by
acclamation. Officers for 2011 are: President, Jacqui Thomas; Vice
president, Patrick Ray; Treasurer, Bill Bentley. We continue to have no
Secretary and one of the officers will take care of any secretarial chores
that come up.
Kel will continue to be Hole News editor but is now living in Cody, WY and
requests that someone volunteer to take it over.
Agenda item: Possibility of Life Memberships: Life memberships generally are
equal to 20 years of dues so in our case they would be $200.00. After
discussion we determined that the reason for the life membership question
was a desire to avoid remembering to renew every year. Creation of an option
to pay for ten years and get two years free was moved and seconded and PBSS
now has a ten year membership for $100.00 that will carry with it an
additional two years.
New WNS management plan for New Mexico is available at www.blm.gov/nm. We
received an email announcing the release during the meeting and all are
encouraged to read it.
We discussed details of the Sonora dig this weekend.
Meeting closed at 1946.
