All,
Last weekend there were 5 of us digging, three from Dallas. Charles returned, bringing with him Cristina and Ryan. Kerry and I represented PBSS. Everyone arrived some time Friday evening/night. We spent the first part of Saturday clearing out what we had to leave last time. It started kinda sticky but became drier as the day went on.

We had the bobcat and filled 5 buckets (I looked up bucket capacities on the bobcat website and our buckets are 1.2 yards). After sifting and removing the tailing pile and removing rocks, we peeled the ledge back and worked some on the trench area. We (mostly Ryan) found a large flint/chert flake, an as yet unidentified animal tooth, and some interesting bones. Back in the room originally occupied by Sam and Mindy we found another old cat incisor.

The most likely way to go continues to be into the hill, the only area of mostly soil. Every other direction seems to be those compacted cobbles.

I am working on a report with pictures that will appear in the Hole News. Jacqui
