The 14th International Symposium on Vulcanospeleology will he held in August 2010 "down under" -- in Australia!
The symposium is an event of the UIS Commission on Volcanic Caves. This year the symposium will be hosted by the Australian Speleological Federation, the Australasian Cave and Karst Management Association and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service. The pre-symposium caving excursion will be held August 7 through 10, 2010 in western Victoria, near Melbourne. We will tour the volcanic region around Hamilton, including Mt Eccles, Mt Napier and Byaduk Caves. The symposium itself will be held August 12 through 17, 2010 in northeastern Australia, near Cairns, at Undara Volcanic Park. Previous symposia have been held around the world in locations such as Washington, Italy, Iceland, Kenya, Azores, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Hawaii and the Canary Islands.
