Greetings, All!
The May meeting (our 304th, if anyone's counting) of the Permian Basin

The regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the PBSS will be on Tuesday
(tomorrow) May 12th at 7:00 pm in the back room of Murray's Delicatessen
which is located at 3211 West Wadley in Midland.
We will be shown a short program about White Nose Syndrome and discuss our
response to the same. We will also be discussing upcoming trips including
the May trip to Ess Cave, publication (or not) of the Hole News, and
anything else caving-related we care to get into.
For further information contact an officer: Jacqui Thomas
[email protected], Sharon Long [email protected], or Bill

All,
I'm pleased to announce that Carl Kunath has been gracious enough to submit
three back issues of the TEXAS CAVER from 2001, 2002, and 2004 and Butch Fralia
has dutifully posted them to the Members Area of the TSA Website for your
reading pleasure.
There's some great reading from the past in these issues. Stories such as the
purchase of the Deep and Punkin Cave property, a daring rescue of an injured
caver in Mexico, CARTOONS!, and a lot of past history and articles from present
day cavers and from some who, unfortunately, aren't with us any longer.
Hours of great reading have been added and I would like to thank Carl for
submitting them and Butch for posting them for posterity.
Not to mention, the 2nd quarter 2009 issue of the TEXAS CAVER will be posted
very soon, maybe, by this weekend!
This is looking to be a huge issue (36 pages), chock full of LOTS of photos and
just in time for ICS!
If you're a TSA member, but haven't yet joined the Digital Revolution, it is
extremely painless to do so. Go to http://www.cavetexas.org/members/ and sign
up and enjoy the back issues!
Please remember to select how you want your TC: mail or digital.
You can still opt to receive the TC in the mail, or you can do your part to be
environmentally and fiscally responsible, while sticking it to the USPS and
their recently adopted rate increase by opting to go digital!
The Members Area continues to expand very well and we currently have grown to
well over 80 members. This is over 40% of the total membership.
Not a TSA member? No problem! We still would like for you to contemplate
becoming a TSA member. Send me an email for your complimentary TEXAS CAVER and
see what you've been missing.
Or, you can visit the TSA website at www.cavetexas.org and become a paid member
and/or become an online member of the TSA.
There now are a total of 14 back issues available for your reading pleasure!
Enjoy!

I realize the TSA Chairman is trying to promote a reasonable agenda that
will reduce the cost of the TxCvr to the membership. But I believe that he
might want to stop short of insinuating that if a member does want to
receive a hardcopy TxCvr, that they are environmentally or fiscally
irresponsible. These things have a way of causing terminal foot-in-mouth
disease, which
can be much more damaging than the H1N1 virus.
