      I've also read Blind Descent and enjoyed it.  In fact I have an 
autographed copy.  :-)  The description of Lechuguilla is more or less accurate 
up to the Rift, which is a ways beyond Boulder Falls.  I don't remember whether 
or not Barr actually got that far in the cave, but if not she had some good 
coaching about the passages.  Beyond that the cave is mostly fictitious, 
especially the part about the well casing and grout, but still highly 
believable.  There are oil and gas wells only a mile or so from Lechuguilla, so 
the possibility of a well intersecting the cave is very real.
