I arrived safely, but late on Tuesday afternoon. I barely had time to register.
I was immediately greeted by 2 Texas cavers, Rick Corbell & Jon Cradit. I said hello to other cavers: Mark Minton, Yvonne Droms, Dick Blenz, & Buford Pruitt. I did a quickie tour of some vendors. I saw the Petzl Ultra headlamp for the 1st time. The battery pack design seems flawed. It cost $ 430 + tax. But it is NOT yet available. Had a nice dinner with the Kastnings. I am pooped from the long drive, so I will miss any evening socializing. On the drive to Florida, I got passed by a Hybrid Yukon. The drive was difficult with a lot of 18-wheeler traffic. My preocupation with gas prices prooved unnecessary. It was about $ 3.60 everywhere, but was $ 3.40 in Baytown.
