WaV, Curiosity got the better of me on Friday and I went out to WeaselWorld on Friday after poking around the University of Florida campus to see how it had changed in 35 years or so. But I put the fear of God into the Sleazeweasel first by bringing along a Panama City friend who's lived in Gainesville ever since we went there as Freshmen too long ago - and friend Don is a former State's Attorney (prosecutor). But I wanted to visit with Don, too, after he got off work and I couldn't stay long. I just had a short time at WeaselWorld because I had to go to Jacksonville that night to catch an early flight back to Houston Saturday morning (no Banquet for me). Anyway, we chilled with beers with the exception of the SW himself, who is having stomach or digestive problems lately. Both he and his place are as colorful as you might expect, and I can see why his parties are said to be legendary: plenty of room and privacy inside and out, eclectic decor within a wonderful heavy timber-framed Maison Weasel, and a genial host, stomachache notwithstanding. I wish I could have spent more time there exploring his 22-acre refuge. I checked with Sleaze by e-mail today to see if the storm had run him out of the woods yet. He said no, but still complained about his stomach...feller needs to see a doctor, I told him. Roger Moore Greater Houston Grotto In a message dated 8/21/2008 5:40:16 P.M. I wonder if the Fu King Chinese Restaurant is going to suffer the brunt of it? (But once you've seen one Fu King Chinese Restaurant - I guess you've seen 'em all) _WaV PS: Did anyone run into Bill Morgan aka Sleazeweazel at the convention? **************It's only a deal if it's where you want to go.
