There is a new trail mix that is worthy of mention.

I believe some cavers like to carry some type of
trail mix in their cave packs for food during long trips or
for emergency use, especially if you have a long hike to
the cave.

Stores carry a lot more variety these days
then they did back in the 80's. ( I don't even remember
stores selling it back then. )

This one by Planters has a "slight" sweet flavor and not very salty.
( It has cherries, sugar, brown sugar, molasses listed in the
ingredients )

It is $ 6 for a small can at the the store ( Whole Foods, I think ).

You could try to make it yourself and save some money, but
I don't think you will get the exact same flavor.

This does not have peanuts, or chocolate or banana chips,
which some might claim are necessary ingredients in a
trail mix. It doesn't have any of the tropical fruit that
some people like in their trail mix, or yogurt. It does
not have raisins.

It looks like you can get it cheaper on the web, especially
if you order a bunch of it.

I bet this would taste good sprinkled on a cereal and milk
( like Wheat Chex or Grape-Nuts or Corn Flakes ).
