I think most people do not know the process or the honor of being a NSS
Fellow.
To be honest, in Texas we just don't care as much about the national thing
as people do in the Northeast, Midlands, and Southeast. But it is a huge
honor, and I would contend that the national organization is important to us
all, whether or not we participate.

At any rate, as I understand it, somebody has to advocate that a person
become a fellow by writing letters for them, and listing their contributions
to caving. Then a committee reviews the nominations, and chooses. If
nobody from Texas is proposed, nobody becomes a fellow.

So there it is. Perhaps we Texans need to do some proposals.

Subject: [Texascavers] Fellows

Just got my NSS News. Does this make the second year in a row that no
NSS Fellows have been awarded to Texas cavers?
