A Tropical Storm Humberto update:

As of 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening, the storm's projected path is to
make landfall on Thursday near

Sea Rim State Park

That is far to the east of Houston and Harris County, so we here will
be on the dryer side of the storm. Beaumont is likely to get some
rain.

I live far to the west of the storms expected track. There is no
sign of a storm here from my
patio. The big weather news here was the brief cooler temperatures
across the area.

For about 1/2 an hour, we had a slight breeze when the storm was south
of us, but it has moved on.

However, I had to postpone my deliveries this evening until tomorrow
night, because of events related to the storm.

There are 2 Houston cavers in Dickinson, but it looks like the storm
will miss them. And of course,
there are cavers in Galveston, and they are already getting some rain,
but so far not enough to get excited about.

It looks like the beaches east of Galveston Bay may get the worst of
the damage. It seems like
Sea Rim State Park has been closed off and on for the past 30 years
since it has opened. Every time
we ever tried to go there, it was closed due to beach erosion. I
would say the state got a bad
deal on that purchase, however, I know 2 cavers that love to go there,
to go birding.
