I replaced my chandelier lights in the dining room with LED's today. They are sold at Walmart. Unfortunately, they are sold in a 2 pack with one light being blue and the other green.
Each bulb has 3 LED's in it. The light effect on the ceiling looks like the Olympic Rings on LSD. There is very little light projected outward, it is all vertical at the ceiling. ( so I will need some disco balls, or some glitter, but that will probably not fly with the Mrs. ) What I really need now is a concave shaped ceiling painted with a polished chrome. But that would cost more than the electricity I would save. Maybe I could find an old satelite dish in a junk yard somewhere, and rig it to the ceiling. ( She is going to love that. ) But it would make a great conversation piece. Also sold in the night-light section of the store, are several new LED night-lights, and battery-operated closet lights. One in particular by Garrity is an 8 bulb lantern which switches down to 4 bulbs to save battery power. I don't know why they haven't sold this in the camping section. I will test this one very soon and post a report. I am optimistic that it will work better than the others I have wrote reports on.
