Folks,
Thomas Summers was the son of the owner of Cave without a Name and worked at the cave. Please be aware that Tom Summers, Thomas's father, is on the Texas Cavers list serve so please be respectful.
Tom, I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family along with Thomas's wife and children.
Also, I want to express our appreciation for the Boerne Fire Department, Kendall County Emergency Management Agency, the San Antonio Fire Department for all the hard work they did in coordinating the rescue and making all the right calls. They are extremely competent, well trained, professional and really a class act in times of trouble. I for one are very glad they are out there and willing to come when cavers need help.
In addition, local cavers played an important part in the incident. In particular, Mike Burriel, Linda Palet, Jean Krejic, Joe Ransau, Kurt Menking, Graham Schindel, Rebecca O'Daniel, Christie Bennett, Fran Hutchens, Bob Cowell, Rick Corbell, and Eric Holman. I'm sure that I've left out many people. Many folks didn't get home until late last night so I'm sure there will be additional information forthcoming.
