Friday I received my copy of the August issue of The Bat Squeaks, the monthly newsletter of the Devil's Sinkhole Society (see www.devilssinkholetx.com). On the front page they're announcing the "Grand Showing" of the 1947 movie Devil's Sink Hole" by Fred Foster. It is now out on DVD and includes interviews with the son of the filmmaker and me. The DSS own rights to the DVD and is hoping for a steady revenue stream from selling it. Steve Foster, the son of Fred Foster, will be at the Grand Showing in Rocksprings, and I will be too. Both of us will speak. It would be great if there was a good turnout of Texas cavers too. There will be a tour of Devil's Sinkhole that night.
You might want to consider joining the Devil's Sinkhole Society to support their good work. A lot of people are seeing the cave entrance and bat flight through their tours these days, which increases knowledge and helps protect bats.
