The new entrance to Mammoth Cave was actually established by connecting
Hoover Cave to Roppel Cave. Roppel is part of the MC system.
"Although Hoover Cave now connects to the Mammoth Cave system, the
entrance is a very long underground travel distance from Mammoth Cave
National Park, and the entrance cannot reasonably be used to gain access to
any parts of the cave system that are within the park."--report by James
