The Association for Mexican Cave Studies needs a new way to distribute its
occasional announcements to an e-mail list of approximately 300 people. It
isn't a list for general news about Mexican caving, but just for "official"
AMCS things like announcing new publications, requesting material for the
annual magazine, and so on--probably about one message every two months, on
average, although right now there's a three-message backlog.
The list itself is currently in a .txt file, one address per line. It
could be put into some other format. I want to maintain the list manually
here, rather than using some sort of automated subscription scheme, because
I use the list myself for contacting authors and other AMCS purposes and
need easy access to it without being on-line at the time. The updated list
and a .txt file for the message would be supplied any time a message is to
go out. The message should appear to come from one of the AMCS e-mail
addresses, and it would be most conventient if bounces were also sent
directly there.
Denver Hopkins and the Greater Houston Grotto continue to host the AMCS
web site and the AMCS e-mail addresses (aliases for me, at present).
Any ideas? -- Bill Mixon
