Ed, as you pointed out, what you did was an experiment that dealt with former common names of places especially in the southern U.S. This is no reason for you to be lambasted by those that think they are not prejudiced. Our history is a fact, even if it is not politically correct by the standards of the last few years. I might mention that the same people that are giving you a hard time, are using the very same behavior that they deplore in so called racists. They have made certain assumptions about you and what you believe based on nothing more than one experiment using old place names. This does not make you a racist, but it does show the prejudiced attitude of the persons attacking you for this experiment. I have dealt with lots of people of color, and still do. The word that these people found so offensive, is now used by black folks as a term of familiarity and endearment. In my opinion, the people that are hassling you about all this stuff, have a very poor understandi! ng U.S. history and are very good candidates for being racists themselves. Hitler would have loved these folks, they probably believe anything that is popular at the present moment among their peers. They obviously don't look at things objectively, or think independantly. They are yet another example of what I call "sheeple". ( A type of people who follow each other blindly like sheep.) I personally do not think that these people should force you to not participate in cavetex or anything else. Anyone with any common sense, (which isn't so common anymore), can see who is truly biased in this situation, and it isn't you.
