Hidy Carl, After all these years I'm sorry we seem to be on the wrong page... I tried to access your webb site but it didn't want to come up... I am left to assume that you somehow have found me competitive with your book... Certainly not intended by me... Might be the fact that I didn't pay you for the use of your wonderful photographs... Nor did I pay any other photographers as I had no money...
What I haven't told you is - I could have lost my ass on TEXAS CAVES... The book was printed in China... I was forced to declare 'NO VALUE' on all originals used in the book... That meant if anything was lost, I owed any of you BIG TIME... I sucked it in & we did it...Nothing was lost & all was returned... WHEW!!!The difference was decaliring a value on each photo meant we had to pay DUTY on each when returned... A definite dissavantage to foreign printers... We could not afford that of course... My royalty check on three books came last week... $ 274 - total income for the year... So I didn't do it for the money... I did not want to cheat you...
