Greetings all,
I wanted to send out an update about the Texas Cavers Reunion. Everything
is on track and it looks like we will have a fun-filled TCR this year. TCR
will be at Flat Creek Ranch again (see www.oztotl.com/tcr) for directions.
The dates are October 15-17, 2005.
Schedule of Events:
Friday night:
The Bexar Grotto will host their traditional Friday Night Fish Fry. Follow
your nose to the location (or see the map at Registration) and have some
really good food. (donation requested)
Saturday:
Vendors and various competitions will take place throughout the day on
Friday. Competitions include rope climbing, speleolympic, and surveying.
There will also be the Chili Cook-off so don't forget to bring your fixin's
and enter your chili.
Before dinner, there will be the First Annual Ice Cream Social.
Dinner on Saturday night will be a wonderful feast with dishes for
carnivores, omnivores, and vegetarians.
After dinner, a number of groups will present awards, door prizes will be
announced, and contest winners will gather their spoils.
After the awards, music will be provided by the ever-popular Terminal
Syphons. If you've been to an NSS Convention lately, you will know this
really rockin' band. If you don't know them, come prepared for some fun.
As always, the hot tub and sauna will be a hot place to be on both Friday
and Saturday nights.
Sunday:
8:30 AM
The TCMA will once again host a TCMA Fundraising Breakfast. Food will be
served for a small donation to the TCMA Cave Acquisition Fund. This is your
chance to not only eat a good breakfast but you get to help buy caves in
Texas.
9:30 AM
The TCMA will hold a general members meeting. Come and find out what TCMA
is planning and find out what you can do to help.
10:30 AM
The TSA will hold its general members meeting. This is an excellent
opportunity to make your voice heard in the TSA.
As we get closer to TCR, the schedule will be further refined as more things
are added. Please feel free to announce TCR at your grotto meeting and
encourage everyone to attend. TCR is a great opportunity to see old caving
friends and meet new ones.
