At the NSS convention last week I took in the presentation on the current
exploration of Carroll Cave, Missouri. I saw miles of that cave back in the
late 70s. Problems with the landowner occurred a couple of years later, and
it's been closed until recently. The cavers there are wearing chest-high
waders when they survey. The reason given is that the trips are long and they
get too cold being wet the whole time in wetsuits or wet polypros. The water
is not deeper than your waist.
