Petzl has a new biner for the frog harness:

It is similar to the semi-circular screw link, but it is aluminum-alloy
and has a gate like the one below:

According to Petzl's website:

This gate features: Triple-Action opening system with an automatic locking feature.

Slide the sleeve upwards along the gate and turn it to unlock.

The biner's gate smoothly opens in one continuous motion.

Several caving vendors were selling them at the NSS
Convention, including IMO.

I think the cost was around $ 38.

This seems like an improvement in the frog system. I think that even if the gate where to somehow pop open, it would be nearly impossible for the harness or the croll to become
disconnected from the biner.
