The 2 links below are to a product that might be of interest to cavers.

It is just a fancy battery pack, but alleges that it is the smallest and
lightest for its high capacity.

It is $ 400 plus tax, however if 2 or 3 cavers got together and took turns
sharing it, it might come
in handy.

If you plan to buy one, you should read the consumer reviews, because the
round AC 12 volt port
is sort of just for looks, and not very practical, as it is designed only
for small electronic devices
that use an AC plug, such as the one shown in the link below:

I purchased something like this about 20 years ago, but it used a car-size
lead-acid battery.
It did not have USB ports or digital panel. I used it on 3 camping
trips, but found that it was
too bulky to be practical, however in those days, I did have all these
electric gizmos that needed
charging. I still have it in my storage building somewhere.

On a different note, but way too personal topic,

I was going to try hard to go to the Christmas Party in San Antonio which
is ongoing,
but too many unexpected things got in the way. My estranged wife
purchased a car from her boss,
and she needed me to go test-drive it and change the oil and give her a
ride to pick up her old car. I could
have blown that off, but it would have just added more stress to the
already unfortunate situation. In a few days, I am
driving her old car to Mexico and giving it to her brother, and dropping
off my mother-in-law, and coming home alone
on the bus, ( probably Christmas Day ). I doubt anybody would do such
things, and would have abandoned the
tiresome situation years ago. But it is all necessary to maintain peace
and have normal relations with my daughter.
I thought again around 8:30 about leaving Arcola and heading for the party,
but it just seemed too late.

On a much lighter note,

I am sending this email to you all using the SeaMonkey 2.40 web-browser on
a test version
of Linux called AntiX-16 using the Debian Sid version and kernel 4.8.10, if
that means anything to anybody
out there. There are at least 5 excellent Linux distros now. AntiX-16
is my 2nd favorite but it is not ready yet. It will be one worth
checking out in a few months. I am now sort of a proficient novice with
about 13 different Linux distros, after being obsessed
with learning that for the past 7 months. My favorite, so far is "Mageia
6," but it probably won't be ready until March. In
the meantime, try MX-16. You will never want to use Windows XP again,
unless you can't figure out how to run your Windows
applications in a virtual environment ( like Virtualbox or Gnome-Boxes ) or
a compatibility layer such as "Wine."

There is a 90% chance I will be in Mansfield ( south of Arlington ) on
Sunday or Monday,
and the same for Reynosa, Mexico on Christmas Eve.

There is a 1% chance I will be at the NSS New Year's Eve Party, only
meaning that I would go if I could go.
