*First Call for assistance* Saturday, April 1st at 9am will be a workday at TCMA’s Ezells Cave Preserve. The Preserve is located on Brown Street in San Marcos, Texas. Our objective will be to clean up the grounds inside the gated are immediately surrounding the cave, clean up the area directly next to the street, remove any dead, low hanging branches on the property and pick up garbage along the property line. I would like to ask if anyone has access to a trailer to haul out gravel, rubble, and cobbles that was once located inside the gated area. We need to find a way to haul this off the property, and a place to haul it. If we are able to get a volunteer with a stout trailer we will form a bucket brigade similar to what we have done on other projects. We will also be inviting folks from the neighborhood, EAA and The Nature Conservancy to come out to help us on the workday. I do not know if anyone will be taking us up on the invite, but just in case you see some new faces be aware that they may not be members of the caving community. Please bring: • Work gloves • Shears, pruners, and loppers • Rakes, shovels, hoes, and other digging implements • Gas-powered trimmers with eye and ear protection As we get closer to April 1st, I will provide additional information on our objective for the day.
